Summary: One of the many easily accessed waterfalls of Yellowstone. Yellowstone is a marvel, full of waterfalls and other amazing sights. Definitely something to see.

Moose Falls are in Yellowstone National Park, just north of the south entrance. There is a small parking area alongside the road and it is just a short walk to the falls.

Unlike some of the other roadside falls, you can get right to the top and to the base of this waterfall. I did not see any moose when I was at the falls, but I did see people jumping from the top of the falls into the nice deep plunge pool below.

Nearby Falls

Yellowstone is full of waterfalls. The Upper Falls and Lower Falls are the grandest, and easily seen from several viewpoints.

Many of the others are roadside falls, such as Firehole Falls, Gibbon Falls, Kepler Cascades, Lewis Falls, Moose Falls, Rustic Falls, and Undine Falls. Others, such as Mystic Falls require a hike of a few miles, and there are many more wild and remote waterfalls.

Moose Falls is just about 1.5 miles north of the south entrance. At the south entrance you can find the South Boundary Trail. A 10 mile hike one way to the west on this trail will take you to Terraced Falls.
