Summary: Horseshoe Falls is a scenic, privately owned waterfall in Munising. There is an admission fee to visit the falls. It is spring fed, so it may be flowing when the other five falls in the area are not.

Horseshoe Falls is located in the middle of Munising, just a few blocks away from M-28. This is a privately owned waterfall. In 2012 it cost $5 to visit the falls. The waterfall is located at the end of Bell Avenue. Signs on M-28 will guide you there.

This is a pretty waterfall. It plunges about 20 feet, and then tumbles down a long series of cascades for another 20 feet or more. The waterfall is spring fed, so it may be running when the other nearby falls thin out in the summer months.

In addition to the falls there is a trout pond, where you can feed the fish.

[Lake Superior] [Alger County] Nearby Falls

There are five other falls in the immediate Munising area that are all on public land: Munising Falls, Tannery Falls, MNA Memorial Falls, Alger Falls, and Wagner Falls. Autrain Falls is a few miles south of Munising. Miners Falls, Chapel Falls, Spray Falls, Mosquito Falls, Bridal Veil Falls, Potato Patch Falls, and Sable Falls can all be found in the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, which is just east of Munising. This map shows the location of most of the nearby falls.
