Hayden Falls is located in a gorge in a suburb northwest of Columbus. Hayden Run has carved an impressive little gorge on its way to the Scioto River. Houses line the southern edge of the gorge, and a major mall is just a few miles to the north, but the gorge and falls still have a wild look and feel to them and are not well known, even to the locals. When you are in the gorge you cannot see anything urban.
The falls are located in Griggs Reservoir Park on the west side of the Scioto River. There is a small parking area on the south side of Hayden Run Rd. If you head towards the river you can find a trail down into the gorge which leads to the falls. To reach the falls from I-270 take Exit 15 and head east on Tuttle Crossing Blvd. Take a right onto Franz Rd, and then a left onto Hayden Run Rd. The parking area will be on your right.
The amount of water here varies a lot throughout the year. When the water is high the gorge trail is impassable.
Here is a short movie of Hayden Falls.
