Why did you create this site?

I like waterfalls.

Did you know there are a lot of waterfalls in Oregon, South Carolina, British Columbia, New England, ...?

Yes. This site only lists waterfalls that I have personally visited, which are mostly in the Great Lakes watershed, and is not meant to be a comprehensive list of all the world's waterfalls. Significant waterfalls that I have not visited are included on the maps.

Do you post other people's waterfall pictures?

No, I only post pictures of waterfalls that I have visited. I do like to look at pictures of waterfalls, so feel free to email pictures.

Are your pictures public domain?

No, but if you ask nicely, I may give you permission to use them.

How do you find out about all of those waterfalls?

Mostly from online sources.

Can I get married under a waterfall?

A surprising number of people have asked me advice about weddings and waterfalls. I am not sure if getting married in a waterfall is that great of an idea. Do you know what fish are doing in that water? Anyway, I have suggested a couple of waterfalls that one could get married near, but I never heard how it turned out. In general I am willing to try to answer most any question anyone may have about waterfalls.
