State: New York

Location: Robert H. Treman State Park, 6 miles south west of Ithaca.

Height: 115

Crest: 20?

Water Source: Enfield Creek

Waypoint: 42.40056N 76.58444W

Summary: One of the more impressive falls in the Finger Lakes Region. This one definitely should be part of any waterfall tour of the area. You can hike from the falls through the scenic Enfield Glen to the Lower Falls.

Robert H. Treman State Park is on Route 13, south west of Ithaca. It is on the map and is easy to find. Lucifer falls are near the West entrance to the park. The gorge trail leads directly to the falls. The south rim trail leads to a very nice view of the falls, and then connects with the gorge trail. If you are willing to get your feet wet, you can get right up to the base of the falls.

You can hike the length of the scenic (if somewhat typical) glen to the 30 foot high Lower Falls. There are about a half dozen other small falls.

The Lower Falls are also in Robert H. Treman State Park at the other end of the glen. ButterMilk State Park is right around the corner. Taughannock Falls, Ithaca Falls and I am sure a dozen other waterfalls are all within 15 miles. Hector Falls,Watkins Glen, She-Qua-Ga Falls, Eagles Nest Falls and probably a hundred others are within an hour's drive.
