Long Slide Falls is a few miles north of Pembine Wisconsin. As the name suggests, this is a long steep slide among some nice rock formations. This is easily the most impressive waterfall in northeast Wisconsin, if not in the entire Lake Michigan Watershed.
You can clamber around on the rocks here to get different views of the falls. Be careful, there are some steep drops, and there are no fences or railings.
To reach this waterfall you can head north out of Pembine on US 8/141. Follow the signs to Morgan Park. When you reach Morgan Park, follow the signs to Long Slide Falls. The waterfall is about 4 miles past the park. There is $2 fee to visit the park, and it is a short walk to the falls.
From here you can walk 1/2 mile to the much smaller Smalley Falls. You can also drive there.
Here is a short movie of Long Slide Falls.
Nearby Falls
There are a fair number of waterfalls in this area, but most of them are rather small. They include Smalley's Falls, Twelve Foot Falls, Eighteen Foot Falls, and Dave's Falls.
